Who?

So who exactly are these Bad Philosophers anyway?

Stephen Torrence

facebookpic0309The principal host and founder of Bad Philosophy, Stephen is a Texas Tech philosophy graduate (with minors in physics, mathematics, and American Sign Language), currently working for Apple as a Genius of sorts. To be perfectly blunt, Stephen is pretty much the definition of a jack-of-all-trades, having dabbled in theater, music, photography, dance, science, mountain climbing, and everything in between at various points in his roughly two decades alive on this little green/blue rock. Bad Philosophy is his latest project, and it’s looking like one of the most exciting ever. Don’t count on any miracles from this gent. His voice sounds borderline feminine and his sense of humor is erratic. But when it comes to wacky philosophical tangents and tireless dedication to perfection, there can be no replacement.

Kevin Saunders

Kevin Saunders as Che

Kevin Saunders may or may not be Jeff McKinzie, and most definitely did or did not graduate from Oxford University as a dramaturg. He is a playwright, performance artist and all around cynic. He is our resident expert on absolutely nothing but has an opinion on nearly everything. He has been called many things in his time, the least confusing of which is “That Guy in the Hat (with The Beard).” He spends far too much time thinking and very little time doing, which makes him perfect for Bad Philosophy.

Jediah Cummins

jed_uncheadshotA graduate student and GA with University Student Housing at Texas Tech University. He is known as the “Number One Fan of the show.” Or, en español, “Numero Uno Fanboy Jed Cummins.” He is an alum of the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Physics and Computer Science, a member of the Higher Education Student Association at Tech, and co-founder of the Lubbock Tweetup.  His knowledge of philosophy comes from a cursory reading of Jostein Gaarder’s “Sophie’s World” a few years back and any tidbits he can get from the real philosophy experts on the show.  He does provide some level of technical expertise for episodes such as Episode 037: Back Seat Philosophy.  He is also the author of the now defunct Wikipedia article for the show. He hopes to learn more about philosophy and spout off more of his nerdy computer science/physics knowledge and maybe, every once in awhile say something worthwhile.
